Various characteristics of Displacement transducers

Displacement transducers are available in a varied range of operational temperatures and admissible pressure resistance. Displacement transducers can give a measurement of absolute piston position in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders as well as other applications. They are very strong and do not have any moving parts which provides them with a very long life. This also makes these displacement transducers affordable as well as dependable. Most companies offer a large range of these displacement transducers as they can deal with even the most demanding applications like Hydraulic cylinder, Boat propeller with variable pitch, steam turbine power regulation and Stone crusher.

Displacement transducers are mounted within hydraulic cylinders. These transducers are highly resistant to vibration and pressure.  They behave excellently on thermal compensation.

Steam turbine displacement transducers are used to regulate the position controls of steam inlet valves.

The principle of eddy current management is used in many displacement transducers. An aluminum tube moves along the transducer coil and changes the induced Eddy-current losses, thus changing the coil impedance. The electronic circuitry residing in the transducer head, translates the information of the measuring tube position into a linear signal.  This construction uses surface mounted device technology that makes it all the more robust ad reliable.
