Video-conferencing our way through the world
By admin
A sophisticated way of communicating, Video Conference is the latest trend in the market of communication. Communication between two or more people in different locations can be easily done through Video Conference. This unique invention leads to saving time and money, with the disadvantage being that the quality, at times, may be an issue. Adding up to its pros is the fact that a face – to – face, less the physical presence of the two communicating, makes the contact between them reliable. Microsoft’s NetMeeting Application included in Windows 2000 can be used for this purpose. Many Android and BlackBerry phones have 3G services, and thereby, can access the Video Conference Facility. With many avenues coming up, video conferencing is becoming cheaper by the day.
The components of the conferencing system can be divided into User Interface, Conference Control, Control or Signal Plane and Media Plane. It can either be graphical or voice responsive and can be viewed on Computer or Television. Two types of Videoconferencing systems are Dedicated Systems comprising a single piece and Desktop Systems which are add-ons to normal PCs. A few common operating modes include Voice Activated Switch (VAS) and Continuous Presence. In VAS, the only one who can be seen is the one who is talking the loudest, while in Continuous Presence displays multiple people at once can interact with each other.
It definitely one’s angel in disguise by bringing people closer to their loved ones!
